It’s that time of year again and Halloween is right around the corner. You can find decorations in everywhere and costume stores seem to be popping up all over the place. This last weekend I had the opportunity to make a pirate cake for a birthday party and it was so much fun. The invitation for the party became my inspiration and I ran with it. This is a chocolate cake with vanilla buttercream and fresh strawberries. The decorations and accents are a combination of chocolate, fondant, and buttercream. Ships Ahoy 🙂

This was a cake that I recently did for a bridal shower. The sister of the bride gave me the colors she wanted on the cake and mentioned that her sister liked animal print as well. This is the design I came up with. The zebra and cheetah print were painted on fondant pieces by hand.Animal Print Cake

Here is a close up of the cheetah print ‘J’ and a better view of the design on the top of the cake.
