Over this past year I have had the wonderful opportunity to work as a cake decorator at Sweet and Saucy Shop located in Long Beach, California, under the guidance of Melody Brandon. It is there that I have learned so much about the art of cake decorating and many tricks of the trade. This is a selection of some of the cakes I have decorated in my time there so far.

I had a tasting this weekend for a specialty cake in October. For the tasting I made cupcakes galore. This is a simple and mess-free way to get the flavor profile you intend on doing for the cake. Here are some of the choices.

This is my Banana Cream Pie Cupcake. It is a banana cake with pastry cream filling, topped with vanilla buttercream and vanilla cookies.

PKU Event

Jenna and Lisa at PKU event

Lisa and I had the wonderful opportuntity to work at an event designed to help those who have PKU (Phenylketonuria) enjoy foods that have little or no protein. Together we ran the cupcake decorating booth. We showed children and adults different techniques on how to decorate cupcakes. The night was so enjoyable and I am so blessed to have been a part of this event! Here are some pictures from the event.
